The Tophams showed up on Wednesday. They were in town for a family reunion. They brought Lauren, who had been to visit her Grandma and Grandpa Sorenson for a week, back with them. They had reunion stuff to attend to during the days, but we got to spend some time visiting with them in the mornings and the evenings. The boys had a great time playing the wii while the were here. We picked about 10 pounds of cherries from our tree. We didn't manage to take a single picture while the were here. The Tophams stayed until Saturday morning.
Jane and Matt Smith (in our Provo ward) were in town for the opening of their new pizza place in Highland. We spent some time visiting with them and had their boys over for the day one of the days.
Friday night Kathy Smith (no relation to Jane and Matt) from Eureka was in town. She stopped by for a visit.
Also Friday night, the Sumpters drove up from Phoenix. They brought Collin Stimpson with them to stay with us for a week. That's when the party really started for Ryan and Joseph. They had a great time with their cousin.
There is a small (very small) amusement park called Liberty Land less than a mile from our house. We had some free passes for that, so we went there on Saturday morning.
Ryan and Collin rode on the airplane ride
All Joseph wanted to do was mini-golf
We also rode the roller coaster. Collin wasn't sure he wanted to go at first, but after he saw Ryan ride, he decided to give it a go. If you ever ride the roller coaster at Liberty Land, be sure that the bigger person sits on the left. We also played a game of laser tag. We had a great time.
Our old trampoline died the death (to quote Grant Dearden) a while back and we decided that this would be a great weekend to replace it.
The boys kept busy for a long time putting together the new tramp...
...and using it
Collin spent the day Monday with his Uncle Brett. We decided to go see "Toy Story 3." We had a great time. You will have to ask us about the boy sitting behind us who yelled at the characters on the screen for the whole movie. It was pretty funny. We barbecued with Val and Camille Ogborn that evening.
The Sumpters came over on Tuesday and we headed up the canyon. We had fun visiting with them even though it wasn't for very long.
We went to Tibble Reservoir
We fed stale Cheerios to the ground squirrils and, of course, threw rocks in the water.
Wednesday was BYU day. Marsha and the boys met the Sumpters at the botany pond (one of our favorite places to visit at BYU.)
The kids (and Steve) fed the ducks...
...and caught a turtle
They would have thrown rocks in the water, but the rocks are pretty scarce around the botany pond. They also went to the Wilkenson Center for some snacks. They also met up briefly with Mark, who was at BYU for Chinese camp.
Thursday Marsha took the boys to the Museum of Ancient Life (Largest dinosaur museum in the world, really).
They played on the erosion table
Rode the dinosaur
Looked at dinosaur skeletons (They were having a birthday party. That's why the dinosaur is wearing a birthday hat.)
Saw the giant shark (again with a party hat)
and uncovered dinosaur fossils
Other things we did with Collin that we don't have photos of: We shot off our own fireworks for the 4th of July. The smoke bombs were an especially big hit. We attended our annual "Cul-de-sac of Fire" were all the neighbors get together and shoot off all the fireworks we have at the same time. We went to the blue park and played on the equipment, climbed trees and threw rocks in the water. We played the wii. We built Legos.
The boys had a fabulous time with their cousin, Collin. We are really glad he decided to come visit us for the week.
We are still waiting to hear when the Meyer Family is coming to visit.

Glad to hear all went well with the Collin, Sumpter visit. We're just sad we had to miss that part. We LOVED visiting with you. Thanks for being the hotel for us!
Is there anything you didn't do? I'm sure Collin will remember this for a long time. I've got Brady with me now in Bend, OR on our way to Banks in Spokane. I doubt if we will squeeze any more fun activiites than you did though.
WOW...PARTY CENTRAL! I wish we got to come and play too. That is A LOT of guests and activities going on! The pic of Ryan and Colin holding the turtle is SOOOOO incredibly cute. I want to get it framed for my wall :)
what fun with so many visitors! makes me want to come to utah for a visit. another time, i guess!
I'm impressed that you quoted Inigo and Uncle Grant in the same post, it makes it all the more better. We wish we could have been there for all (well, at least some) of the festivities. I'm trying to figure out how we can make a trip to see you before school starts. It's not looking promising :( I'm glad we have a good and fun family though. You guys are awesome.
